Class #768
Artemis BJJ (MYGYM Bristol), Can Sönmez, Bristol, UK - 18/09/2016

I think I just ran through some stuff with Tracey today? I can't remember, forgot to record my notes afterwards. I'm trying to get back into the habit of quickly talking into the Dictaphone app on my Galaxy Note after class, so that when I come to write up the class a week or two later I haven't forgotten everything. I do know I didn't do any sparring, as I was still resting my neck from tweaking it on the Friday.

However, as I haven't mentioned it yet, I'll take the opportunity to talk about the new podcast I've started. I'm calling it The Artemis BJJ Podcast, taking a leaf out of Caleb's book. It will start off by being a bunch of old audio footage from the numerous interviews I've done over the years, particularly for Jiu Jitsu Style Magazine. I've gotten permission from Callum, the editor, as well as the people I've interviewed.

I'll also be looking to record some new ones. I'm thinking one with my instructor at some point, a load at the BJJ Globetrotter camps, similarly grab lots of people at GrappleThons, and whenever I get people down for a seminar. I only need 30 mins, so it hopefully shouldn't be too tricky to make some time for that. I could also skype people, though I much prefer interviewing in person. Skyping does expand your reach massively though, as then you aren't restricted by geography. I'll see.

Anyway, I'm using Spreaker, which gives you 5 hours to play with on the free account. After that, you need to sign up for packages, so I've set up a Patreon page to see if that can raise the money to get a pro account. The initial target isn't too onerous, as I'd just need $50 a year (well, maybe a little more, as they will no doubt eat chunks out of that in fees and the like) to bump up the audio footage limit to 100 hours. If the podcast isn't good enough to raise that much cash, then I can always just stop it (or make it way more occasional). Looking forward to seeing how it goes. :D

First episode is with Michel Verhoeven. More details on the main podcast page here, but I'll copy over the embedded player and links for downloading etc here too.
