26/04/2018 - Thursday Daytime

Class #974
Artemis BJJ (MYGYM Bristol), Can Sönmez, Bristol, UK - 26/04/2018

Daytime session, we went through a bunch of side control escape options. I watched the long video Saulo did on it over at BJJ Library, so wanted to have a play with his framing variation. Rather than arm into neck, he keeps it underneath. It's a bit reminiscent of Priit's use of frames close to the body like that, which lends itself to a number of different escape variations.

I also went through the running escape, covering both the turn away and the granby roll, plus Jason Scully's elbow-to-armpit variant. I'm not sure which one will be best to teach on Monday when I cover Kirsty's class, something to keep thinking about. Maybe the Granby roll one, as I haven't taught that in a while? :)
