Another small women's class, so I went through a bunch of stuff with Kate. Her pressure from the top is getting good, which is great to see. Excellent use of the shoulder from mount, so I'm hoping what we went through today will help her turn that into some finishes from mount. She had some trouble with the ezequiel I taught last time she was here, as her fingers aren't too happy with the position (understandable, that choke can be tough on the fingers). I therefore went through the gi tail version instead (as per the vid above).

That's not something I've done much from mount, particularly with my own gi, but it seemed to work for her. I tried again in sparring a few days later, landing it then too. Something I perhaps gave up on too easily before, I'll be trying that more now. Especially as it's a pretty easy position to set up from the top of mount, you just need to get an arm under their head and have your gi tail loose. :)
