Sparring with Sam, trying to pass knee shield by pinning the bottom leg with my leg, moving around. Tricky, as he can generally just sit up and back away. I was being lazy, so wasn't using the usual continuous hip pressure on top I normally would. On the bottom, trying to push sweep but couldn't get his legs in alignment, perhaps I could have driven in for it more.

With Matt, I focused on framing in order to prevent him getting a connection, then attacking the arms to get that grip. I did eventually get the grip and looked for the kimura hug, but didn't properly move his arm away from his body. As he still had a good chunk of his arm on his stomach/chest, the rotation wasn't resulting in the necessary pressure on the shoulder. Also, at some point he got a cut just above his eye: I'm not sure when that happened, but something to avoid. I was pushing down on his head at one point to move over deep half guard, not sure though. Nails are short, so it must have been from my gi, perhaps a seam? Fairly soft gi (hemp), so that concerned me. I'll stay aware of it.
