I had a go at teaching the Kurt Osiander snare choke, which uses the near side gi lapel, but I need to work on that more as people kept finding it was becoming a crank. I also went through my usual side control guard recovery. Stuff to note for tomorrow would be highlighting the danger of them clearing your hip arm with their knee, along with the point that longer legged/less flexible people may need to shrimp multiple times to clear their legs enough for closed guard.

Good half guard drilling with Matt H and Heidi, talking about various options from deep half and against the opposite side pass (a position also known as reverse half guard). If I can keep my cross face and block their leg I feel quite secure, but with the right combination of gi grips and leg hooks, there are techniques that totally mess that up. Interesting stuff from Matt, as always. :)
